ADVANCE: Increasing the Participation and Advancement of Women in Academic Science and Engineering Careers
Rice University is proud of the fact that, in 2006, it was awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to establish an ADVANCE Program, charged with changing the landscape for women faculty in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology.
ADVANCE is a five-year program designed to promote institutional transformation in science and engineering fields. It specifically focuses on improving the recruitment and retention of women faculty in science and engineering. At Rice, the ADVANCE Program will transform Rice’s working climate for faculty and facilitate the advancement of women into faculty and leadership positions.
